Our Favorite Gifts for Valentine’s Day

February 14th is quickly approaching and whether you’re planner or a last minute gifter, we’ll make sure your gifting options are limitless this year.

We’re big fans of giving gifts that have meaning and are truly something that we know the recipient will love and use.  Chocolate and flowers are great, but they disappear nearly as quickly as Valentine’s Day passes. We prefer gifts that get use and that with each use comes a friendly reminder of the person and the moment that gave them to us.

Here are a few of our favorite gift picks for Valentine’s Day this year!

A Piece of Your Dream Bathroom Come True

What is there not to love about this perfectly appointed bathroom? Oh yes, that’s right — it doesn’t belong to you or me! While we collectively swoon, elements of this space are attainable now thanks to Restoration Hardware’s Annual Bed & Bath Sale.

A soft, fluffy towel made of the best Turkish cotton can make even the smallest and restoration-needed bathroom feel cozy and quite frankly, a bad towel could make even the most relaxing bath have a “rough” ending. Restoration Hardware’s Turkish Towels have filled our linen closets for years and we eagerly await this sale each year.  These towels are made in 28 colors of the finest 100% cotton terry cloth from Turkey. To say these towels wash and wear well is an understatement.

During the Annual Bed & Bath Event these towels are all on sale, so a set can be purchased for just $45:

Turkish Wash Towels – Special $7; Regularly $9

Turkish Hand Towels – Special $15; Regularly $18

Turkish Bath Towels – Special $23; Regularly $28

Turkish Bath Sheets – Special $43; Regularly $54

Add a few to your next Suddenlee order. We’re certain that you’ll be coming back for more for yourself or for any last minute guests that might drop in. It’s an easy (and affordable way) to bring a piece of your dream bathroom come true.

Enjoy!

What’s Your Super Bowl Tradition?

I’m a football fan. I’m also a New Yorker. Like most fans I have team gear. However, unlike most fans, I don’t have a lucky hat or shirt because I happen to be a Jets fan and most of our luck has been bad. This year the Giants and the Patriots have had no lack of luck in these past conference finals, with fumbled punts and missed field goals. All that said, hail to the victors.

While my friends who are Giants and Patriots fans are making their entire family wear and do the same thing they did the last five weeks so as not to jinxs it, (Paulie – I think washing the shirt doesn’t affect the jinx), the rest of us just prepare to just enjoy the game.

I have developed my own Superbowl week tradition. Since 1996 I’ve collected the AFC conference championship winner hats.

I have to admit there are some NFC hats I’ve purchased too, if the hat looked good. I typically buy the Superbowl winners hat too, again it has to look good. There have been some bad hats over the years, but I have to say the Giants’ and Pats’ hats typically look good.

The Giants 2000 hat, the Pats 2004 hat and the black 2007 hat for both the Giants and Pats are some of the best designs, and the hats this year will work too.

Last year I almost had what I wanted (a NYJ AFC Conference Champions hat), but ended up with another Steelers hat.

Do you have the gear you need for the game? If not, we can get you what you need and you get it to you the next day.

What’s your Superbowl tradition? Who are you rooting for?

Tells us on Facebook or in the comments below.

P.S.  – Woody you can at least have the replica of the hat that Weeb wore on the sideline during the Superbowl III, (white hat with the two green stripes and the logo on the front, looks like the helmet) made until we get the new one!

Maybe that’s the lucky hat we’ve needed.

Obsession of the Day: Vince Camuto Phoebe Sachel

We stopped in the new SoHo Vince Camuto store today and immediately fell for all the pops of coral scattered throughout the collection. One of our favorite pieces was the Phoebe Sachel.  The photo online doesn’t do the bag’s supple leather justice, but as you can see the sporty coral trim and snakeskin printed stripes are a refreshing change from racks of black and leather studded bags.

What do you think? Has a new spring bag caught your eye yet?

Guy Obsession: Puma Mostro Perforated Shoes

Reminiscent of the Spot Bilt “White Monsters” that were popular in the 1980’s with astro turf, these Puma Mostro Perforated Leather Shoes are a stylish update to the throw backs.  So if your games have moved off the field and the goal is style, these can do you right, while still letting them know that once upon a time…..

Puma’s description of these got me, so here it is:

Style is serious Business

For when comfort is key but style is non-negotiable, these modern kicks have both in spades. The perforated leather upper means long wear and maximum breathability, while the rubber outsole gives greater stability. We don’t mess around.

Daily Obsession: mophie Juice Pack Air for iPhone 4

I’m the first to admit to having no restraint when it comes to picking up the latest patterned or pantone colored iPhone case. The options are limitless when it comes to iPhone-style, so we set out to find the best match that also provides a little more function and thereby handbag staying power.

All we needed to hear was “virtually double the time you have to rock, talk, surf, and send” — SOLD! This case is the real deal. Forget the big, bulky extended battery-life cases of the past, the mophie Juice Pack is a sleek addition and with double the battery life, we’ll never be left without Angry Birds on our next cross-country flight again!

Daily Obsession: Josie Natori for Target

Don’t get us wrong, we’re excited about the upcoming Jason Wu collection at Target, but it’s January 10th and there are many cold days ahead before it arrives in-stores on February 5th. In the meantime, we’re getting our Target-fix with a few colorful and cozy pieces from their exclusive Josie Natori Collection. The affordable price-points are perfect for a post-holiday spending “freeze” and there’s nothing quite like a pretty floral print chemise to warm-up January a bit until the Wu rolls in next month!
